Job Description:
ECS Financial Services is looking for a CPA with 5-10 years of recent public accounting experience, ideally with a medium to large-sized firm. An ideal candidate will offer significant experience in the preparation and review of audited, reviewed and/or compiled financial statements and related financial analysis. Staff supervision, staff training, tax preparation and/or review experience are a plus.

  • Plan, direct and control the client engagement process to successful completion, including income tax return
  • Supervise and review work performed by our staff and interact with the principals and shareholders on client and team matters
  • Identify issues and recommend creative solutions to complex client accounting issues
  • Work and communicate effectively with staff, clients, shareholders and principals to enhance their understanding of financial matters and tax issues
  • Participate in the billing and collection process
  • Pursue opportunities to provide additional services; pursue leads and retainclients
  • Coach and develop our staff’s understanding of GAAP and the general business world
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with staff and client personnel and assess clients' needs and satisfaction
  • Demonstrate an understanding of accounting, tax and attestation concepts and apply them to client situations
  • Direct fieldwork, planning and execution on client engagements
  • Serve as an on-site client and staff resource and support progress against project milestones to help ensure timely delivery of engagements
  • Serve as a liaison between clients, staff and upper management
  • Interact with clients to help ensure the information flow from the client to the engagement team is efficient
  • Identify and effectively communicate accounting and attentation matters to firm principals and shareholders
  • Identify performance improvement opportunities
  • Foster an efficient, innovative, and team-oriented work environment
  • Develop our staff through effectively delegating tasks, training and providing guidance
  • Execute the day-to-day activities in the completion of accounting engagements
  • Utilize technology to share knowledge with team members, develop skills, and increase effectiveness and efficiency in the engagement process
  • Regularly brief clients, principals and shareholders on engagement activities through written and verbal presentations
  • Assist in the creation of proposals and other new business development efforts
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 5-10 years experience in a CPA firm audit department
  • Licensed CPA
  • Knowledge of Financial Reporting Framework for Small and Medium Entities (FRFforSMEs)
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Excellent project and staff management skills
  • Team player with high integrity and strong work ethic
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in financial audit and engagement software platforms
  • Proficiency in ProSystem Fx Engagement a plus
